One night, Robbie Reyes entered into a street race with a stolen car, hoping to earn enough money to get himself and his disabled brother, Gabe, out of crime-ridden East L.A. But the car had stolen contraband in its trunk and the cartel shot Robbie dead, setting the car on fire.

Lucky for Robbie, the car was haunted by the spirit of Eli Morrow, who brought Robbie back to life with incredible speed and strength. Or maybe not so lucky. Turns out Morrow was a former serial killer who embedded himself into Robbie's psyche and now takes over whenever Robbie loses control of his anger.

But with the help of Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, Robbie has been learning to channel his Ghost Rider abilities.
